I grow corn. I do give my birds the undesireable ears that I don't want to sell. They eat the corn off of the cobs and don't touch the husks. Now I just put the husks in my compost and rake up the cobbs and throw them in the compost too. I have a chipper/shredder on the back of one of my tractors. I throw everything in it so it is in smaller pieces which composts better and faster.

We're growing some corn and have given our chickens the whole stalk. They enjoy eating the leaves and the corn off the cobs. I haven't seen any ill effects, but are the leaves not good for them?
