24 degrees and dropping

31F at 9:30 pm ... and dropping fast. Projected low is 18. Ouch!
We already have 1/4" of ice on the ground (ground, trees, cars, coop, etc) and snow is coming down like it means business - small, fine and dense. We're only supposed to get 3", but on top of the ice, it'll be treacherous in the morning. At least it's MLK Day, so the kids are off school. No bus traffic is a good thing!

Be careful- keep your nose and ears covered! Don’t want to be like grandpa and lose part of your ear to frost bite!

This cold is set to last a couple weeks at least looks like.

I do have snow.

I am going to be outside a lot tomorrow because the cows need more hay. And of course tomorrow is supposed to be even colder then today.

3 days ago is was almost 50 degrees and now it is down to -30

Yep crazy weather, never seen such wild swings as the past few years.

Is -30 normal for you this time of year?

50° / 10C and clear with 44% humidity at midnight. High tomorrow of 84° / 29C. That is too hot to work outside so I'll be in for the day. This is our hiking season but if these 80+ temps keep up, we won't be able to do many more hikes.

This was taken on the Painted Hills trail the other day, looking east towards Tucson.
