You can find aspen shavings here. Aspen shavings are comfy for them to burrow into and are pretty cheap. That's what I'd use. Also, if you do end up getting one, make sure to get them a snake house with a heat lamp above it.
Is a snake house just a cage? I have a 40 gal cage that’s long but not that tall I still plan to use as much vertical space as I can for them to climb on(I’m only getting one just using them cause I don’t know gender) and the cage has uvb lights attached to it and I also plan to give them a heating pad on the warm side probably on the side of the cage and not the bottom. Is that okay?
It's the type of thing you'd use for an aquarium. The way you said "40 gallon" makes me think that that's what you mean. You can't put a heating lamp on the glass, or it'll crack it. I'd get a mesh top and put the heat lamp on top of that. A 40 gallon tank would work just fine though! I think that you're doing great so far. Keep going!
I do have a glass tank but it’s being used by my brothers bearded dragon but she’s going to grow out of it and I was going to get it, it has a wooden background but the rest is glass, I might be able to take the top off or keep it open and then just buy a mesh top to use maybe? 40 gallon mesh top tanks are expensive
