I am looking for a good scratch recipe to use for the girls in the colder months. Corn and soy free recipes.

Thanks

I recently did a lot of research and blended my own feed. This is my complete feed recipe:

wheat
oat groats
millet
flax
rice bran
alfalfa pellets
***
peanuts
peas
sunflower seed
fish meal
Nutri-balancer
***
oyster shell
grit

Save your self a lot of work and head aches just go out and buy a bag of pigeon grain. It will be far better than anything you can make at home.
You can get it with out corn and soy also the mixes will range in protein from 14% to 21% and is super cleaned (no dust at all).

Here are some examples -

Crude Protein, not less than 14.00%
Contains: Popcorn, Whole Milo, Canadian Peas, Whole Wheat, Maple Peas, Austrian Peas, Oat Groats

Crude Protein, not less than 16%
Contains: Canada Peas, Red Milo, White Kafir, Maple Peas, Oat Groats, Austrian Peas, Whole Wheat, Safflower Seed, White Millet, Red Millet, Canary Seed, Vetch, Buckwheat, Rice

Crude Protein, not less than 17.00%
Contains: Canadian Peas, Austrian Peas, Wheat, Oat Groats, Milo, Red Proso Millet, Maple Peas

Crude Protein, not less than 21%
Contains: Canada Peas, Maple Peas, Safflower, Austrian Peas, Whole Wheat, White Kafir, Red Milo, Vetch

I ordered it from him and a truck delivered it. It was expensive but that was the only place to get the fish meal, too. I wish there was another way.

I don't want to mix my own feed, I just want a simple scratch recipe to give the girls a little extra in the colder months.

Then simply find out which non GMO grains are available to you and give them to your flock.

Oats, especially, keep chickens warm. Wheat is good for scratch, also. Sunflower seeds, too.
