We are working on our corner coop that will hopefully save on space. The coop measures 8ftx8ftx10ftx8ft(high).
We will be adding rows of nesting boxes on both back walls and roosting bars along the top and middle. We are using wood that was scraps from a relatives house. The only thing we had to purchase so far was the 2 inch screws to put this baby together. It will have a tin angled roof to allow water to drain out of the run and to prevent our chickens from trying to roost on it. My father helped us by giving us the metal we need for the roof. He looks at it this way, frees up room in his shed. lol We left a gap in the back walls to allow ventilation using 1/2x1/2 wire mesh. We still have to close in the front, make the nesting boxes and setup roosting spots. I will get my husband to add little doors to the big door for our chickens. After the building of it is done. I want to sand the outside well and put a finish/seal on it. By the time it is fully cured our chicks will be old enough to move in.
