cornish cross

This is just a question not something I'm planning. That being said, has anyone ever raised a cornish cross as you would a layer, fed slower and not as much and had any success breeding it with a regular chicken? Again this is purely curiosity. Anyone?

I have seen some threads on here mentioning keeping a couple hens and having them live just fine. I was searching for threads on developing your own hybrid meat birds, I believe they kept 2 hens who were 2 or 3 yrs old and did just fine, they bred with buckeye and welsummer cocks I believe and were quite pleased with the results.
