We have started calling them frankenchickens . The growth rate is out of control and next to our other hatches they look like monsters. I can't believe at 6 weeks how large they are. My buddy that told me not to raise them was 100% correct when he said these birds are by far the messy breed to end all. All they do is eat and poop!

I know I just added 6 of them to my other 30.. and they were one week behind and now at two weeks they are almost as big...I don't have a way to take away there food like should be done...they can hardly walk sometimes it seems.. there crop is so full all the time just a big lump there... I cant wait to butcher them... ..jeff

I agree completely.. I have very good animal husbandry practices.. when I raised these birds I could not even come close to keeping up with their filth... it is completely over the top how bad their poop is. my girlfriend raised them and thought ALL chickens were this way. I had to let her know it won't be this bad with egg layers.

if I ever do cornishX again, I am going to put them on pasture and restrict feed to enforce forraging... last year they were kept penned and it was awful.

or, I might do freedom rangers next time

I hate to say it but your absolutely correct. I can't wait for them to be outside already or on my BBQ....lol
