You are definitely not supposed to eat a chicken with yellow fluid in it is what I was told. Good thing you burned it. I would like to know what the yellow fluid means. Does anyone know?

You're partially correct. You forget that each carcass is examined by USDA and FDA inspectors which are not the nationality you are referring to. They are paid highly for their devotion so as to keep lawsuits to a minimum. Therefore, as Bossroo said...it makes ZERO sense to for a self-serving broiler production facility to sell sick birds.

First of all, I never said anything about nationality. Simply that the slaughtering is a low-paying job and nothing but a job to many, I'm sure.

My guess is that the inspectors are looking at the carcass only which in many cases won't show how the chicken was acting prior to death or even if the chicken was already dead before processing began. They're not doing autopsies...
