This isn't the first time I've raised meat birds, but it is the first time I've had a straight run. Normally, they're all females. I've been following the same 'recipe' in feeding amounts as I have in the past, yet this group finishes their daily feed amount within 4 hours! They've been excellent eaters since day one, but I guess I'm on the fence now. I'm wondering if I should increase their amount and run the risk of flip or just keep the water clean and full, once they're through their daily feed amount?? They're currently 6 weeks old and we take them on their 'truck ride' at the end of 8 weeks. They seem to be growing 'normally'. We're feeding the same starter/grower as in the past.....a 21% protein. We also have another group of organic fed birds that are acting the same way. Ideas?? Thanks!

Boys eat a lot! Maybe lower protein, ~18%, & more quantity? Try googeling "COBB 500 production spec.pdf -- I can't seem to post it here.

Some growers process the females at 6 weeks, they are not the best growers for the feed after that. Then, the boys in another 2 weeks. "Cornish Game Hens" = 4 week broilers.
