The weather here is finally warm enough to put the Cornish Rocks outside into their own little tractor, which I did today. I'm so happy to finally have them out of the coop. This is my first year raising meat birds and what a learning experience so far. I have never seen a chick eat and drink so much, poop so much, and grow so fast!
Next year, I'm definitely putting the meat birds into a separate coop away from the hens with a heat lamp. It took an hour to clean the coop after I took the Cornish rocks out and ugh, what a smell... The coop is clean again with the floor scrapped clean and a fresh layer of shavings. Now, in 4 weeks comes the moment of truth, can I process these guys???
