Question for you guys doing the breeding. If I get a really good quality rooster and some ok hens. Hatch the offsprings and raise them to maturity. Would I cross the offsprings with the father to get even better genetics or would this cause more harm than good?

Well there are blue laced red Cornish bantams. Good ones are probably just slightly more common than unicorns.

Seems to me, way back somewhere I may have heard or read, that it was thought some old strain of white laced reds may have also carried blue, rumored as an attempt to help keep the lacing clean. Maybe someone else can substantiate this.

Other than maybe some mad scientist types playing around with colors, that's about all I'm aware of.
I would agree, we have not found many, we had got a nice typed hen that had light slate grey color to her, and have been working with our WLR to bring more blue in the color, so far we have done ok, would like a darker blue, sharper blue, this year we did hatch a male with single lacing that is black, that I plan on putting on a female with this dull blue to hopefully make the blue a stronger blue. As you can see from the btm male below color still has some work to do but I am encouraged
