Hello everyone, we are kinds new to Cornish X meat birds. We have raised many years ago, but all died around 3 weeks old.

My son, who is 16, wanted to try again this year, so we got 6 and they've done great!!!

They just went outside yesterday and I'm wondering what to do about feed and water at night??

Do we put it in the coop with them, or do they just go all night without it???

Our regular birds don't get feed and water in their coops, only brooding hens.

So what is the protocol for this???

Also, will they ever learn to drink out of those water cups??? They had a regular water this inside, but outside they have a new cup system..

You will want to limit the amount of food they are eating now to prevent sudden death. Some people give them food during the day and remove the food in the evening. Others feed them in the morning and once in the evening, but only as much as they can eat in 1 hour. They need constant access to water, so definitely put a waterer in the coop with them at night. Hope that helps. I'm new here.
