I've got 20 cornish x males that are 6 and a half weeks old now. Last weekend we culled one that couldn't walk. Now today I've got another one that just won't stand up... but he seems fine otherwise.

I know these guys are prone to leg problems. Will vitamins added to the water help at this point? If so, which ones should I give? Or should I just cull this chicken? If I do cull him, will he be alright to eat?

Thanks for any advice- this is my first batch of meat birds

I just butchered all mine today.... out of 8 (3) encountered leg problems and could no longer walk. I had to put food and water in front of them so they wouldn't die. Mine were about 10 1/2 weeks and weren't HUGE birds. Best of luck with yours.... I would imagine that vitamins at this point wouldn't really help but that's JMO.

I wouldn't think it would help at this point, but for the future, I give mine broiler booster in the water (from McMurray,) and still have an occasional problem.
