cornish X pullets?

Hi,

im new to this meat bird stuff and was wondering if you need to feed the cornish x hens/pullets layer feed?

Are you buying these as chicks? If so than no you want to feed them just a standard chick starter that is as least 20%...

Feed this ration straight through until you process.

If your going to raise them to lay eggs don't feed them the layer mash until they are about 16 weeks old.
 
if i got some it would prob. be as chicks and only use them as meat and i would also process them as roasters at the proper age which is.......???

Feed them broiler feed, at least 20% protein, NOT layer feed. Process them at 8-10 weeks for big roasters. Your roos will be HUGE by 8 weeks though.
 
Most likely your cornish crosses will have severe health/leg problems way before they would get to laying age. You really shouldn't have cornish x's for any other reason than for meat. There really is no other viable purpose for them.
