I came home yesterday with 2 cornish chicks. I've butchered once before, but have never raised meat chickens. The feed store lady told me to take their food away at night. Any other advice I need to know?

I agree with the lady at the feed store. It seems like the way Cornish X gorge themselves, a 12 hours on, 12 hours off feeding cycle prevents leg problems as the chicks grow a little more slowly without have 24 hour access to their feed.

Man, I think my cornish double in size, daily. They are big eating monsters. LOL

They look tiny for 7 weeks. What did you percent protine did you feed them? I feed mine 22% meat bird crumbles and at 7 week I have 5 lbers and they look much wider then yours. The batch I have going now are only 3 weeks old weds day but I'll post a pic in a few weeks. Please don't take offence I tend to word things politically incorrect.

Hi I have 7 week old Cornish and 1 of mine was tiny too she came out only 1 lb 4 oz

I processed her last week due to her being so much smaller .These are My 7 week old Eating machines
