My only suggestion to keep dogs (and predators) out would be to change out the chicken wire and put in 1/2" hardware cloth instead. Chicken wire only keeps chickens in, it is no match for a determined attacker.

Thank you for all the 'welcomes' and the advice - how lovely are chicken people!
We are going to change the wire on the bridge section to hardware cloth. Our worst predators are foxes and our dog so making it safe is essential.
