I was wondering if anyone knew how to make coronation sussex instead of importing? Does anyone have any Idea? I think it would be awesome to have a project like that, but Have no Idea where to start..

I would think you would have to cross a lavender bird on the light sussex and cross it back again to get the lavender to show, then work on your pattern around the neck and tail.

lavender is recessive. It IS black, sort of. If the bird gets two copies of the lavender gene (one from each parent) the black turns into lavender. It can carry one copy of the gene and it will just look normal black. Cross it again to a lavender and you will get 50/50 lav/black.

Have you got a decent Light Sussex to start with? Without good Sussex type it will be rather difficult for you to get the Sussex type. (Frankly the Speckled Sussex I've seen over here are rather lacking nice type)
The Coronation Sussex, as found in UK, are blue, which gives a slightly darker cape. The Aussie Light Sussex are lavender.

its pretty much columbian pattern with two genes for lavendar. so take columbian wyandottes and cross them to something to get the lavendar gene. cross them back to one another and then breed back to clean patterning and wyandotte type.
