Thank's for the great links. I've got 7 chick's 3 week's old & 1 chick 4 day's old in the same room. One of the 3 week old chick's has blood in the poo. I noticed this late saturday night. I spent that night reading all the great thread's and decided maybe to treat for cocci. It took me awhile this morning to find a place open on sunday to purchase sulmet. Why do these thing's alway's happen when everything is closed. My old man went to pick the sulmet up and what he purchased say's for swine ONLY. He got it because he said he remembered seeing swine on the package of terramycin. This product was manufactured by Fort Dodge Animal Health. It's a 4oz bag and say's Aureomycin Chlortetracycline Bisulfate on one side of the bag & on the other side it say's Sulmet Sulfamethazine Bisulfate. I'm totally comfused now. Is this the correct med's????? I did NOT
give to chick's. I spent the entire day checking the poo every few minutes
{I really gotta get a life lol} and no more blood. I know which chick the bloody poo came from and the chick is acting normal, eating, drinking & playing. What should I do???????? My feed store, that I trust will be open in the morning. I'm not panicking now since I haven't seen any more blood I just don't want my chick's to suffer because I don't have any knowledge on this subject.
