Hi,

I'm not sure that's mites, but just in case you want to treat them, permetherin powder works extremely well and can be used both on the chickens and in the coop/run. Repeat that in 7-10 days.

It could be pecking, and there are generally two major causes of it; overcrowding and lack of protein.

For space, they should each have 4 square feet per bird in their coop, and 15 square feet each in their run.

If it's a protein deficiency, some folks will just switch to a higher protein feed, like an all-flock, then supplement with oyster shell as all-flocks are higher protein, around 20%, but less calcium. You could also research higher calcium herbs, spices, foods, etc. like scrambled eggs, fish, etc. and feed that to them a few times/week.

I don't have a rooster I picked up one of the Auster loops and her bottom had no feathers
🤣 austra loops.
Australorps. Yep, they're being picked, this is caused by boredom, tight quarters or nutritional deficiency.
How big is their area? For how many birds? What are they fed,
