what should the correct weight be on the cornish x rock at 6 weeks?
i am lookin for a good refrence point so i can weigh mine this weekend and compare, they are the meyer broilers, are they true x rocks (it just says broilers)?
I understand the varible of differngt feeds will give differnt results

We just butchered forty Cornish x Rocks this morning. I weighed them weekly, but didn't write it down. I think ours were around 4 at six week-ish. They were around 7-7.5 two days ago.

We had seven people and a whizbang plucker, so it only took us two hours.

yea i aint weighed mine yet i have them on a lower protein to slow them down
(18%)so they wont be quite as heavy i believe, my guess is they are around 3.5 lbs or so for the roos a litle less for the hens

They should weigh 4.3 lbs live weight at 6 weeks.

I'm shooting for 5.5 lbs in 6 weeks but we will see.... I have to have them gain a pound in a half in a week.... so we will see. Right now mine are 5 weeks and weigh 3.5 lbs live weight.

wow i just weghed a few and what unexpected results. some weigh 3.5 lbs some of the bigger cocks. some around 3 lbs small roos, a few large hens, and then the small hens go between 1.5 to 2 lbs (smallest hen weghin 1.5 lbs) I have 50, that eat roughly 25 lbs of feed a day, they are 6 weeks old. any one else think they are on the small side? I have them on a 18% feed, (local grown )and I mix it, we kept the protein on the low side to keep leg problems and heart attacks to a min..

I was thinking of seperating the males from the females and finishging them (males) up on pasture?(good idea or not)?
