I was given some Cortunix quail eggs and know nothing about hatching them. Does anyone know correct temp and humidity. Number of days and when to take off the turner? Need any advise, please! I would really like to hatch these eggs. Got on the computer and looked and was hit by a virus so now I'm scared to research. Not to mention my computer is locked down and I've got to get it looked at.

I am hatching some right now. I did the same for them as I did for my chicken eggs. They just incubate for 17 days and you take them out of the turner at 14 days. I did the same hummidity and temp as chicken eggs.

YEp, same as chicken eggs--temp 99.5F humidity 40-50% for first 15 days, bump up to over 65% for lockdown. I lockdown on day 15, and they hatch day 17-18.

Thank you so much. I put them in my GQF Saturday morning hoping they would be ok. I hatch constantly with 95+ rates and I didn't want to let the eggs set for days until I could find the information.

Just be careful with the humidity during lockdown... because it sky rockets once they hatch and too much is not good for them. I just hatched some out and i got my humidity to 40% and when they started to hatch it jumped to high 80's low 90's so just be careful and make sure you watch it!!

One of my GQF (I have three-found a deal at an auction on 2)goes to 75-85 with a wafer, the othe one goes to around 65. I have had very good hatches with the high humidity on chicken eggs so I didn't block the holes after the first hatch. I'm guessing I will keep the quail in the one that stays around 65. I always had wonderful hatches on the chicken eggs in both. Haven't incubated on hatched in the 3rd one but was thinking I would eventually dedicate one of them to the quail.

How old are the quail when they start laying eggs and can anyone recommend a good website or book on raising and hatching? I haven't been able to find anything locally.

Thanks, I did not want to look around. Everyone be very careful looking up quail info. I'm not one of those people who open every website but the worm I got went around my security. It is on a very legit looking site that comes up when you google Cortunix quail.
