I am planning on buying fertile eggs and hatching out either 50 or 100 birds, strictly for butchering. My questions are, how big of a cage would I need to grow these birds to eating size, and how old is usually the best age to butcher?

I believe the standard is 1 square foot of floor space per bird, and Coturnix hit prime eating size at about six to eight weeks.

If where you live the weather is cold, you don't need a lot of space. They are ready around 8 weeks.
