So I usually only breed chickens but lately I have gotten more into quail. I currently have two Italian coturnix and one female white. From what I’ve read, if I breed the white to an Italian it will produce mostly Italian, maybe some golden, and potentially a few brown. Is this true. I know white and golden are both dominant and have been told that breeding the Italian with another Italian would be potentially dangerous as there would be defects in roughly 25% of the eggs. I also had the idea of breeding one of the Italians to the white and breeding their offspring to the other Italian. Thoughts? Help would be appreciated!
