Not a Bobwhite keeper, but everything I've seen says to keep different species of quail separate...

FOR RECORD SAKE ALL NEW WORLD QUAIL ARE VERY AGRESSION PRONE SPECES. THIS INCLUDES BUT NOT LIMITED TO ALL STRAINS OF BOB WHITE, TEXAS BLUE SCALED, CALIFORNIA, MOUNTAIN, GAMBELS.

THESE ARE TURE GAMEBIRD SPECES AND SCRAPPY LIL GUYS... SPACE AND SEX RATIOS ARE THE KEYS TO THEM. THEY CAN BE TRYING UNTIL THE LEARNING CURVE IS MASTERED

Main thing will bobs and other quail native to the states........give them lots of room. Alway have more females than males. You can keep them penned in prs. or trio. Don't cut the upper beak, if needed use bits, no matter what you have read , it does not HURT them.

For sure DON'T mixed them with coturnix.

RED HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT! IF THEY WERE HOT PINK WITH HUNTER'S ORANGE POLKA DOTS IT WOULDNT MAKE A DIFFERENCE--- ITS STILL A BOB WHITE. AGAIN PLEASE STOP POSTING INCORRECT INFORMATION. THE PURPOSE OF THIS FORUM IS SHARING CORRECT INFORMATION. MISINFORMING SOMEONE WHO ASKS FOR INFORMATION CAN OR WILL LIKELY CAUSE THEM SERIOUS PROBLEMS OR LOSS OF STOCK.
