Coturnix color genetics experts - Pearl genetics?

I have a question... as I am new and probably seems like a dumb question to the experts.... but... are all baby hatchling coturnix the same color when hatching? Or would a recessive white be a diff color‍♀️... or are they all just like a brown until a certain age?
They are different colors.

Oh! I am the person that would know on this forum and I do not know. In fact, it's somewhat of a stumper I am working on. It seems to be simple dominant, but the other things that complicates it are:

A. the patterning and the underlying base color appear to be controlled separately, and somewhat related to the golden italian genes (we see in-betweens all the time with some white and some gold) and

B. some colors can mask it sometimes but not others. I have a silver male hiding pearl genes that keeps throwing pearl and snowie (silver + pearl) babies. Beats me why he doesn't actually express the pattern himself!

You will need to get birds from lines known to carry it to have a chance at it expressing, though (I do know this particular male was from pearl-fee parent(s), not a silver-only line). And if you're doing that it's pretty easy just to order a big batch of actual pearl-fee :)
