I recently hatched a batch of Coturnix quail and was able to identify the colours on most of them, but these two have me stumped.
This baby is Acorn. I would say she is a silver, except silvers usually don't look silver when they hatch, and my silver quail used to look very different when she was younger. I did some research and she looks like a platinum quail which I think is a silver variety.
Acorn is the one on the right in these pictures.
This baby is Toast. I have no idea, I would say Egyptian or something but she looks like she is wearing a little tuxedo. I don't think it is a tuxedo because neither of the parents are tuxedo quail, I'm not sure how to get tuxedos either so idk if you can get tuxedos out of non tuxedos.
She had boots on because her toes were curled, they are fixed now.
Any ideas @Nabiki ?
