Coturnix in lockdown, when should I become concerned?

I'm sure this has been asked roughly a billion+ times but I'm incubating coturnix eggs for the first time. Hatch day was yesterday. I set them in the early morning if that matters. Anyway, I have yet to see anything happen. No wiggles, no pips, no peeping... nothing. At what point do I start to become concerned? I'm not worried yet but am staring into the incubator like a crazy woman hoping to see something encouraging. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thank you

Have you candeled them and are positive they were fertile? Im just about to put my first batch of quail in

so i dont have personal exp but i have read the most people wait 5 day after hatch date to crack them open and see what went wrong. Good luck

yup and they had nice veining when I did but that was last week. good luck on your hatch!

What day are they on and what temps did you use? I've found my jumbo coturnix eggs take a day or two extra than smaller cots.

I'm on day 18 until 9:30am which starts day 19. They're Golden Italian Coturnix. I thought that just referred to the coloring? Obviously I'm a newbie LOL it never occurred to me that it meant anything else. I used 100.5 degrees F and my incubator held pretty steady the whole time. My eggs were shipped also. I'm not sure if that plays into anything.

Jumbo eggs are bigger and can take a day or two longer than than smaller coturnix eggs. Mine usually start to pip at 17-18 days, hatching 18-19 days at 99.5-100.5. I'm not sure if being shipped would lengthen hatch time? Shipping will usually give less than 50% hatch, it's just the mechanics of being jostled about during shipping being hard on the delicate insides of the eggs. I would think by morning you would see some pips. I'm hoping you wake up to chicks peeping.

Yes I discovered cracks in a few that I'm guessing came from shipping. I hadn't had any luck getting local eggs so I thought I'd take my chances with shipped ones. I'd be happy with just 3 or 4 hatching (started with 15). Well I guess I'm crossing my fingers for good news in the am. Thank you for the info. I had read that hatch should be day 16 or 17 but wasn't sure if going over that by very far was common or not with quail.

Still no action. I may have heard peeping this morning but I'm not sure if it was coming from the bator or from the chicks in my brooder lol or even from birds outside. I'm so excited that I could be hearing what I want to hear

Good luck! :D May I ask where you ordered them from? Do you know how far the had to go during the shipping and how long it has been since they were laid to the point they were in you incubator?

I ordered them from ebay. the seller was from Kansas. I don't know the lay date. I've started to see a lot of coturnix eggs on the local craigslist so if this hatch doesn't pan out I'm going to try contacting those sellers. Shipping is killer. Thank you!
