can a quail lay 2 eggs in a day. this was her first day laying. she was scalped a week ago and is in her own cage. when i did the am feeding she had no eggs when i went back out now she had 2 eggs in her food dish. i think i will crack them and see whats in them. they are a little smaller than the eggs i am getting from my other hens.

I actually have one hen my only pharaoh i've kept every two days to every other day I go out and she's got two eggs in there instead of just one...she doesn't have a break either....either it's 2 eggs a day or one egg a day, it's insane. she's only in with one other bird and it's her mate... and he's guarrenteed a roo lol. You're lucky she's still laying after being scalped normally the shock stops them for a bit, and you're evne MORe lucky to be getting double eggies! They lay them hours apart but yep many have had this happen.
