First of all, I'm new here, but I've found this forum so helpful in the past few months raising my quail. At the moment, I have two hens laying eggs. Up until now, they were in the garage (its quite cold in the winter here) and the eggs looked very similar, like the left two columns. I moved them outside a few days ago and they stopped laying for two days. When I went to see them this morning, I found the two eggs on the right. They're almost a bronze color. Any ideas about what may have caused this? Is there any cause for concern?

Is there a chance that one bird was laying inside, then when moved outside the other started? Either way I don't think there should be a concern, not one of my eggs look the same and usually always have some degree of differences. FYI....I'm a newb too!

I don't think that's the case, mostly because the eggs are consistent sizes; each day, one egg is slightly larger. The most recent eggs were the same sizes. They've also each been laying one a day quite consistently.

Ill check again tomorrow and report back on the coloring!

I got a solid colored egg just like yours the other day, finally got the picture from my phone to the computer. It's in the lower right corner. The egg just above it on the right is from the same hen next day. The other eggs are from the rest of my flock. There's a lot of variety between the hens in the flock but usually each individual hen lays the same type of pattern/color each day.
