Oh wow look at those strong spots, beautiful!!

Hmm I'm not 100% familiar with this color but.... Is Albert an Alberta?? Hehe the spots on the chest just make me think female quail

Albert is possibly an Alberta I've had people tell me he/she is golden, italian and then golden italian? Hasn't layed an egg yet but has been making weird crowing kind of sounds at like 3:00 in the morning. My mom my stepdad and my 5 siblings hate quail. lol

Yours is a golden variation (There are 30 someodd golden varieties) and can be color sexed just like pharaoh (brown). Alberta is a lady.

Girls will make a high pitched calling sound when they are looking for their friends so that will be what she is doing. Here are our quail.

That's probably exactly what she's thinking! I'm hoping putting her in our aviary with the others in a more natural, planted environment will stop this. We just need to get it all set up. If she won't stop she'll have to go back to the cage they are currently in and live with Periwinkle who she came home with.
