I hope they arrive in good shape. The eggs I shipped to another person
were ok. I wrap each egg in a thick paper towel and buffer the box with
newspaper.

Hey Monarc, do you know if quail are susceptable to cocci? I've lost
6 young silkies to it and think I lost an 8 week old Buff Orp today.
The quail and chickens are in the same building and the quail manage to
get out of their cage and free range in the barn with 30 various young
roos.

did i mention if you have to many males they eat eachothers eyes ! thats what happened to me, i had to cull 3 of my males cuz they were eyeless! so now i have one male ( hes beautiful) and 5 females.. well atleast my ratio isnt off anymore. and the females were just battered, i felt so bad for them, one had a bald head and a scraped eyelid, and others had feathers missing and were kinda week from all the breeding.. so i hope they can heal now and be happy and pop out some nice eggs!

yeah sad isnt it!?! I'm lucky that I learned a bout this issue before my birds were mature as I've seen first hand (not from my birds) how they can com eout looking not just males hens too, it would make a weak person puke or cry..or both. Like putting a bird through a meat grinder. It's unbelieveable what thsoe beaks can inflict!

Yay to getting the ratio workedout!
