Coturnix Quail eggs

What varieties should I consider if Im looking mainly for eggs, and meat secondary? I was just looking on ebay, and there are many sellers. so if I can't get them here I can there for sure. Im probably going to select a few varieties.

i think there's a few people in california (?) ..would maybe better egg source only b/c it would be a shorter trip to you from that location...otherwise quaillady is a definite A + source.
i got Button quail eggs from 2 sources on ebay about a month ago. 1 source was a great hatch while the other was a low hatch,i'm sure you would have the same situation with Coturnix eggs... in other words ,you take your chances ....

I quit selling on ebay a few months ago because I can sell them here or on my website with almost no fee. It is pretty cold where I am, and it is a pretty long trip for the eggs. I am shipping some eggs to California on Monday, and if those do good we could try it. I also have some shipping out to Alaska on Tuesday or Wendsday. I hope tHe ones going to Alaska will make it, but I am not netting much on it.

I second the opinion about getting eggs where your least likely to get temp damage in the winter. maybe go to your state thread and ask if anyone has quails? you'll more then likely find some close by.

That said many of us here sell eggs and Know what we are doing

so come check us all out when your mixing bloodlines.

I tend to work with the Range colors but also have whites and Manchurian. I'm also working on the Fawn colors..
Just hatched a pair of Fawn's in the wild pattern!

just a thought about ebay quail eggs... buy in smaller quantity's i have had much better luck with eggs that i bought when they numbered less than 50... IMO its because ppl get tiered and careless after packing up 100s of eggs... ive bought over 100 eggs 3 times from 3 different sellers and had 0 out of the 1st batch, 21 out of the 2nd, and 13 out of the 3rd... but i bought 25 once and got 23 chicks...

and i too would recommend quailladyoffortmyers i have English whites, fawns, and red goldens from her... love them...

With large orders, you may also have people who really don't have enough birds to ship them fast enough. They may be shipping several day old eggs to meet a 100 egg order...
