Coturnix quail laying 2 eggs a day?

I have three coturnix quail and I thought I had two males and one female and I still kindof do!! But I was getting one egg a day for about a month then it stoped for about 2 weeks!! But yesterday she finally layed again! But today I got one this morning and I just went out there and got another one!! Is it possible that she laid 2 eggs today? Or do I have another hen that I didn't know about?

It is very possible that your quail laid two eggs.

Yes they can lay more than 1 a day but usually just 1.

She probably laid one late yesterday and then another today...completely normal.

No she layed them both today!! Because when I feed them this morning there wasn't an egg but when I went back about an hour later (I go out there all the time) there was one!!

Did you check late last night? Mine almost always lay after dark.

For the last couple of days 2 of my females laid 2 eggs only hours apart. I check on them often. They begin to lay around 2pm and usually finish up by 6pm.

It is possible for quail to lay two eggs in a day, but it is usually because they skipped a day or laid early. This is often caused by stress, but could have other causes as well.

Sorry. I was searching Google about multiple eggs per day and this one showed up. I didn't even look at the date.
