Coturnix Quail Question

Hi! This week I was interested in getting a few coturnix quail chicks but I have a few questions about them. 1. Can they eat chicken feed or turkey feed when they get older? 2. Can they be raised with chicks? Thank you in advance!

Chicken feed no, turkey feed maybe. You want a feed that's 1. Formulated for gamebird types (ducks, turkeys, quail, etc) and 2. Has a minimum of about 24-25% protein. Find both in the same feed and you're golden.

And probably not; they are so much smaller than the chicks they will get trampled. Also, chickens carry diseases they can pass to quail and kill them without being symptomatic themselves.
