Coturnix Roo Breeding "Blush"

Ok, stupid question, but my jumbo male doesn't look very 'blushy'? Should it be very red in the browns, or just a little different? My regular male (who I think is also a jumbo, just a bit on the small side) is definitely blushy, but he is older, by at least 4 months. That poor fella is in a cage full of little girls! Only one of his 'hens' has started laying!

I honestly think the extent of it really may depend on age AND bird to bird but I dunno yet

On the pictures of others I have seen in breeding condition though they do look unique and different per bird

Remind me to get a pic of my 'normal' roo, he is about the same size as his girlfriends, but he is way more red than my other male. Idk if he is a different color or what!

Another big change when in season, is the big red ball behind the vent. One of the easiest way to sex them even the pure white.

GREAT LOOKING BIRDS!!!!

yep that is a dead give away yet when I try to explain it to newbies they seem confused, though if they just flip em over and look they'll notice right away....I'm lucky the first time i saw this was on a picture online so when I finnally got to see it in person I didnt freak thinking that the birds were sick or infected
