Hi all,
I have 3 coturnix quail, 2 of which turned out to be roos. They have been fine with each other up until the last few days, just occasionally chasing each other around the pen. But this morning I noticed blood on the neck of my a&m. I pulled both roos out of the pen, and the pharaoh is fine, just a patch of feathers missing. But the a&m has a gash in his neck about 1/2 inch long. I brought him in, rinsed his neck, and put him in a separate cage. He seems to be acting ok but I am worried about infection. What should I do?
BTW, I am looking for some girls for him right now. I have eggs in the bator and hoped things would remain civil until they hatched and were old enough to be introduced, but that's not happening.
