I have 10 Coturnix females mixed with 2 males that are 10 weeks old now and I still do not have one. single. egg. They live in a 50 square foot aviary in our yard, love digging in the dirt and flying across the run, are being fed 26% natural Turkey grower (the quail grower at the feed store only had 20% protein) with supplemental oyster shells. They also get plenty of sunlight and 14 hours of light per day.

The only reason I can think of as to why they are not laying is because they have been molting for the last few weeks. The thing that really stumps me though is that the males are not behaving like males at all. No crowing or mating whatsoever and I was under the assumption that they reach maturity around 6-8 weeks old. Hopefully someone has advice on what I should do because I have been patiently waiting for an egg for the last 3 weeks now :barnie
