My average weight on my laying hens is 203g (7.25oz) and my 5 1/2 (maybe 6) week olds are at an average of 163g (5.84oz).
I'm thinking about thinning my flock out and keeping the top hens. I may move the smaller hens over to my A&M roo to make the tuxes, then use the larger hens with my largest roo (I have one 5.5 week old and one that's younger yet, but is pretty chunky).

So, what does everyone else have weight-wise in their flocks?

This is a pretty good topic.... im really interested in also what is the average weight you are getting for those you are about to process, and the final dressed weight for your birds. It would be good to know whats the ideal weight to aim for.

oh great now i gotta go out and weigh them because i like doing this and you just gave me an excuse to

annnd while I was weighing them i saw something move down by the one barn.... here... my cats got outside! LOL! Luckily they were too happy to see me to run so I just waltz up grabbed them and threw their tooshes in the house. The backscreen door is easily popped open and they obviously wanted to take an adventure today....crazy thing though the most adventurous one stayed in the house! (i have three).

ANYWHOO... I'm not only typing averages because I did a lot of work! LOL!

Nope I'm not booked, I haven't really started selling eggs yet (basically because my numbers are so low). The only issue is my browns are in a molt (except PC). They're the only group that IS in a molt not sure why but they are and it's annoying as heck! I have 20 fresh eggs sitting here but they are from all my other birds (mostly my A & Ms and goldens,...PC is in with the goldens....so she normally hatches out golden babies.....but I did move the browns in with the goldens so now it's more like a full force golden pen.....but once the browns start back up i'll know for sure (as instead of 4 eggs a day... lol) and I can let you know..but like i said they'll have the possibility of having goldens instead of browns. I omited my brown breedings now just breeding for bigger goldens.... as browns really don't have any benifit here for my goals other than size).

ANYWHO as long as size is what you're looking for I assume you wouldnt care if they were goldens or browns. But yeppers I can let you know when they start up if ya'd like!

Oh and they are slow maturing...6 and even at 8 weeks they did not weigh this weight around 12 weeks they matured to their full size

ETA this probably doesn't help much but I do have brown chicks from them before they stopped I think I do in my incubator still as well they didnt fully stop until just a few days ago.
