Coughing chicken... eucalyptus allergy?

Hi all, My girl has this terrible cough and gasping. She got it a year or so ago, we took her to the vet, gave her antibiotics, nothing helped much. She kept eating, drinking, laying eggs. None of the other chickens in the flock got it. Finally it just went away and was been gone for months. Then this summer when I mulched the chicken run the cough and gasping has started right up again. I realized that the last time I mulched (with free city mulch) was when the cough started. Could this be a eucalyptus allergy? The mulch is mixed, all kinds of trees.

It certainly could be some kind of allergy. Chickens can have allergies, just like people, though it is rather rare. Keep her away from the mulch and hopefully she'll get better.
