One of my silkie hens has gone broody once again. I have been wanting some buttons for awhile now. I was wondering if i could put maybe 6 button eggs under her and a couple silkie eggs and take out the buttons once they hatch and leave her to raise the silkies. Would it work? Thanks.

I wouldn't. Silkies are too large and button quail shells are thinner than a chicken egg. I think you would be in for heartbreak if you tried it.

Yeah, hen would be too large and Itd probably break them, besides I've heard that you shouldn't put two different size eggs under a hen since when you do that, the larger eggs tend to get warm and the small eggs tend to always be colder, so it might not be an ideal hatch.
