Egg sac should be completely absorbed, that's why it's so important not to get impatient and help. I hope it's fine this morning. if fluffed up I'd apply some watered down iodine to the area just to help keep infection at bay, and please don't help anymore. They really need to struggle that's all part of hatching and making it in this big world. The only reason to help is if struggling over 24 hrs and membrane is dried out [looks like brown paper] then it's shirk wrapped in the egg, there are other times to of course but best to wait as long as possible. please update. When you helped this time you should always leave the bottom portion of the shell intact so at least it has a chance to absorb sac and struggle a bit to work it's way out. There's been peeping and some movement, but it seemed like it was struggling, it couldn't get out of the shell, I helpedI peeled a little bit of the shell back so it could wiggle out better. I know I should have left it go..... I got worried. It still took some time but it wasn't making much progress. I didn't know what else to do. Leave it or remove the shell.....![]()
but I did remove the shell. And it moved more and peeped more. Opened its eyes a bit. Taking it's breaths. Still a little curled up though, but it would stretch itself out eventually.
However, I noticed it's belly was sticking out, like when a baby's umbilical cord gets cut. Then I thought I really messed up! :'( I really hope this one survives, it came this far! I won't help anymore now cuz I'm afraid if this one dies, what if the others do?![]()

According to the water fowl incubation guide the humidity should be at 65-75% at lock down. hows the baby doing?Ha! I just realized something.... I can still keep humidity and temp up without opening the bator! Spray through the vent plugs, duh! >.< it's now at 99° & 62%. Is that too much?
