I own a Coturnix Quail called Fern, who we have had since last autumn.
Back then in autumn until quite recently, Fern never let the males mate her. I'm wondering if she may have been younger because when more recently she has been letting the males mate her, some unusual bluish celadon eggs have been appearing every now and then. Her plumage has also changed, got a bit darker and more like Bracken's - the only other brown (as in colour not mutation) female quail we have, all the others are Golden Manchurians.
Another thing that makes me wonder is the fact that her feathers, along with the Great Enchanter's (very mad name) are the softest of all the quails. The other's feathers seem more greasy in comparison.
I will add some photos:

Her colour looks like falb fee. Celadons can be any colour, they lay the pale blue eggs.
Do you think she could be a Falb Fee x normal cross?? She Is a bit more brown than a Falb Fee, but she has greyer patches.

Falb Fee are coturnix. Egg colour and pattern is not linked to feather colour or pattern. Falb Fee lay the same kinds of eggs as other coturnix.
I've been @Nabiki ed, again. You beat me to the 'punch' again. 😂 It's all good!

Do you think she could be a Falb Fee then?? Or a Falb Fee cross with Brown or Pharoah?
Certainly could have Pharoah in her recent distant past....to me she looks more Pharoah than Falb Fee but what do I know?....I haven't raised Coturnix in quite a' coons age'!
