I just collected an egg it has speckles on it that are reddish brown.
They will wash off. Could it be dried blood and should I worry?
They are a spots and no smears.

It could be blood. I have a frizzle that laid eggs with blood on them, but after a while it stopped. If it is not alot of blood she should be ok. I read that some pullets can have some bleeding when they first start laying. Just keep an eye on it and hopefully it will stop!

It sounds like blood. You have nothing to worry about. When a hen first starts laying she will have blood on her eggs.

Sometimes the egg chute in certain individuals benefits from a food high in fats. You can use a flock block or a wild bird suet block if this persists. I use the wild bird block at all times in cooler weather, mine were in a slow moult and it helps with the new feathercoat as well as a lubricant for all membrane surfaces.
