Could my chicken have Egg Yolk Peritonitis?

Seems your instincts were right, OP and she had a nasty internal infection. It could well have been caused by egg yolk peritonitis as you suspected. It can happen to any hen, she was just unlucky.

Glad to hear you have got meds on standby in case it occurs again in your flock.

I wonder if it will be so easy to get them shipped here after December? 😟

Thanks for sharing the preliminary necropsy results. It helps us all to learn on our chicken journey.

Aww no problem, they all still seem well, very stressful worring about them, along with everything else that is going on in the world right now. My husband has his office at the bottom of our garden and he sent me this picture yesterday, 2 of them had climbed on to the back of the garden bench and were peering in the window at him, such little characters!

Once I have the full results back I'll share here, it is so helpful reading others experiences and like you say it definitely helps us all to learn on our chicken journeys.
