Could my one Molly be Pregnant? Any Ideas on what this fish is?

Are you talking about an outdoor pond? The original poster has the tank inside. I was basing my answer on indoor tanks not outdoor ponds. That said though-if the outside temp is 100 degrees, the pond temp should also be 100 degrees. I think we're misunderstanding each other somewhere

Noo my tanks are inside, i would say if i had an outdoor pond my chickens and Cat would eat my fish, But as i said my goldfish tank is inside and is really Cold, i hate sticking my hand in there when one of the ordainment's have tilted because the goldfish moved the rocks around it

Thats the tank i was saying is COLD!, even the heated tank feels slightly Cold to luke warm to be because of body tempreature and all, but ^that one is Freezing cold.

so thats why i was saying a heater may be needed even if the inside of the house is warmed some parts of the year.

Im not fully sure if this is ANYWHERE near you because im not farmiliar with the US and all, all i know is its vaugly near the Franklin area.. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/for/2716305374.html

I wish they were closer! They are about 3 1/2 hours away! Once my mom has surgery I am going to be stuck home ( I don't drive yet ) The only thing I could do is get one of my brothers to take me to walmart and get a 10 Gallon, if they have one. Would that be big enough for now? I know they need a way bigger tank but there are none locally

I won't be able to get a 20+ tank until my mom is better.

neither of your mollies look pregnant YET, that doesn't man that they AREN'T. I don't know much about mollies as I never raised them, I do know that guppies, swordtails and platies show gravid spots as their pregnancies progress, so i would assume that mollies do too.

and your black moore h what look like Ich,I'd get that cleared up quickly, once it's in a water system it is H E double hockey sticks to get rid of.

Your molly that is mostly white looks pregnant to me. The end of their belly near that curved fin under the body gets almost a 90 degree angle to it right before birth. Mollies can store sperm so be prepared for several litters.

Get some non iodized salt in the water. If the tank is not completely cycled the ammonia or nitrite can kill your fish. If your pH is at 7.0 or lower than you will not have to worry about ammonia killing your fish. It exists as non-toxic ammonium at that pH. Nitrite (the second part of the cycle) can poison the fish. It causes the blood to not be able to carry oxygen. The chloride in salt will help prevent poisoning. http://www.addl.purdue.edu/newsletters/1998/spring/nitrate.shtml

Your
black moor looks like he has body fungus or has parasites causing it to produce a heavy slime coat. He also looks like he is getting over fin rot or has the beginning of it. Salt will help with parasites and the stress from the poor water quality.

hate to say it as im not trying to be judgmental but that tank is WAY to small for a single fancy much less 2 commons (i see two?)
for a single common goldfish you need about 30 gallons with a filter that does 10X the filtration(for a 30 gallon with one common no other fish youd need a filter that did 300 GPH) otherwise your look at sky rocketing ammonia do you test your water? i can pretty much assure that your amonia level is in the deadly range unless you do 100 percent water changes twice per day everyday.

yes fish CAN survive ammonia levels like that BUT its very very hard on them imagine living in a single tiny room you could barely move in and went to the bathroom in also no toliet your waste just building up im sure youd have a very difficult time breathing and im also sure youd do some damage to your lungs.

to the OP:
yes 10 gallosn for a black moor is alright so long as you make absolutly sure NOT to add ANY more fish or snails or shrimp or living critter that produces wastes also make sure you get a filter that has a rateing of 100GPH DONT go with a filter labeld for a 10 gallon tank those are counted for tropicals who do not produce so much wastes and donot need so much filtration.

The ammonia and nitrate levels are fine in the tank as it is fully cycled. As for the size of the tank, we only started off with one fish but someone decided to buy us another one as a gift years ago, which we told them not to get so we're stuck with 2 fish now. At least they are not in one of those horrid Unfiltered Un-airated goldfish Bowls that everyone seems to adore.
