On a recent road trip, my buddy and I ate at two different popular breakfast places that feature waffles, both in Alabama. I honestly could not finish my eggs. They had zero flavor, zero. You just can't beat free range, I can't go back, ain't gonna happen. First thing I did after the trip was cook up two of my yard eggs. Got that nasty commercially produced blandness outta my mouth in two swoops!

Its like comparing mass produced grocery honey to raw honey, night and day difference.

The thing is, I honestly thought of taking some of my eggs with me for the trip. Next time I just might have to. Of course I'll have to bring a stove & propane but hey, anything for a free range egg fix, right!

Oh I know! I tried going back on the Atkins diet a few months ago- just when the girls were taking a little break. I had to buy eggs for the first time in years. I spent the extra to get "eggland's best"- best thing they had at the store. Bleh! They tasted soapy almost.

Before I got my chickens I was buying free range Whole Foods eggs and they were pretty darn good, have to say, but its been about 2 yrs since I've eaten a commercially produced egg, correction-tried to eat.

Hey, what I have found to be true with everyone I've talked to that's tried the Atkins diet is that the first time, you drop the lbs. The next time or two the body remembers and it just doesn't work as well.

I still say cutting out sugar and corn syrup and fried foods is the best way to go, and eating real food, stuff not out of a box, fresh or frozen, with as few ingredients as possible. Well, that's what works for me anyway.

OMG you just reminded me. One morning we decided to pass on donuts and a buddy opted for rubber eggs on a biscuit. Couldn't eat that either, whatever that was!

DD's fiance's sister refused to eat my "home made" eggs that she takes and shares with his family. "EWWWW, it comes out of a chickens butt!" So last weekend, DD and fiances mom were making breakfast and they made sisters eggs with my eggs. Sister was like, "either I'm real hungry, or these eggs are really good". When they told her, she was like, well, now i see why you like them so much!

Funny you say, when we went tent camping on the blue ridge we did bring our own eggs and sausage with us. Nothing like the taste of free range on top of a mountain first thing in the morning, with a steaming cup of joe, of course.

That's awesome & is that the reason you only have 1 piney woods rooter in your signature?

If we eat breakfast out, I get an omelete usually with lots of stuff in it for flavor, they don't taste the same but I can stomach them.
