Could Not Finish My Eggs

Funny you say, when we went tent camping on the blue ridge we did bring our own eggs and sausage with us. Nothing like the taste of free range on top of a mountain first thing in the morning, with a steaming cup of joe, of course.

That's awesome & is that the reason you only have 1 piney woods rooter in your signature?

No, he's the pet. I don't give the others names, that way I don't get attached.

i often find myself starign at eggs when we go out bc they are such an odd pale yellowy-gray....and at home mine are bright yellows and oranges. i find the pale eggs icky to look at therefore icky to eat.

I try to avoid scrambled eggs if I'm dining out. Most restaurants don't use real eggs for omelets or scrambled eggs... I guess they are actually an egg 'product' but they are liquid pasteurized eggs. They have virtually no flavor and are typically real pale in color. When I was in the restaurant business we had customers claim they were allergic to the the 'egg in a bag product' so we would scramble up real eggs for them. Either way, they're still not as good as fresh eggs, but better than the liquid pasteurized eggs.

My DH and I went out to breakfast last weekend at our local favorite greasy spoon and had omelets. Both of us felt guilty for eating eggs from prisoner hens. We said next time, we will take our own eggs and see if they will prepare them for us. It would be interesting to see the reaction!

Each time in my stated experience here I ordered them over easy. They simply just did not have any taste whatsoever to the point they were not appealing enough to get past a bite or two.

The rubber egg on a biscuit, where do you even start to explain that one?

Free range eggs have corrupted me for life, in a good way! If I can help it I will never go without keeping chickens again.

And strangers keep saying how stupid chickens are, I tell them, they're much smarter than people give them credit for.

Yep, according to them, I'm hooked on stupid chicken eggs, but I know better than that.

I tell them my chickens get mad in the morning and want out! Not because they are hungry but because they are unhappy because they want to explore.

If I'm a little bit late in letting them out, they let me know about it. I know better than to call them stupid birds!

I totally agree, Only home eggs will do....I used to travel for a living and after we had eggs, I simply just couldn't eat them in a commercial establishment.

I did ask one place if I bought my own eggs, would they coook them....unfortunately they would not.
