Could our hens be confused ???

Recently someone let our hens out of the coop into the run and didn’t leave the door open. We’re now finding eggs outside of the boxes. Could this disruption in routine have confused them? Up till now the vast majority has been in boxes. This mornings find was cracked and I’m concerned that this isn’t going to be easy to fix.

You can try a few fake eggs in the nest boxes to encourage the birds to use them again. Even those plastic easter eggs would work.

Thank you. Bet they’re back in the stockroom by now. Would it help to move misplaced ones with gloves into the box?

Gather eggs daily, put fake eggs in the coop nests.
