I was really excited today seeing as my hen appeared to be laying her first egg. She was in the hutch for about 1.5 hours then came out, clucking et cetera to get a drink as if she had layed an egg. However there was no egg in the hutch and I checked her bottom but coudn't feel anything. Should I check an area specifically? Or is it normal for them to "mimic" a real egglaying before they do start to lay?

Thanks
