I missed her morning does of medicine because I wasn’t at home. I’m sure it’s ok since it’s the only time I have ever missed it and she seems ok. Anyway, I just checked on her again since we’re about to give her the meds in a few hours and I wanted to change her bedding. What I found astonished me. The hen was fine but she was moving every last paper towel out of the floor of her doggy crate and put them in the cardboard box I’m using as an “in case she wants to lay” nest box, she made a nest neatly around the two porcelain eggs With those paper towels- she even used the soiled ones! (I couldn’t find my pine shavings to put them in there so I was going to use paper towels anyway but she did the job for me- and she made it the way she wants) could she be getting ready to lay? If this is the case I be greatly relieved and excited to know she is almost fully recovered. I noticed her sitting in it this afternoon and she must have had the urge to lay, but not quite yet. I’m very excited and I hope that my guess is right! (She is a 3 year old speckled Sussex if you need to know that info)
